The Ashleigh bit has a more direct action than the Pelham bit. It is a great compromise between the action of a double bridle and the one of a Pelham bit. The lever action is more direct because of the shifted lower bar. Whether you attach the reins on the top loop or on the lower loop, the action of this bit will be different.
