Gum guard

Start by bridling your horse without fastening the noseband. Then gently insert the Protec under the bit and allow it to naturally align along the gums, making sure the pads rest against the molars. Once the bit is properly positioned, fasten the noseband to hold both the bit and the Protec securely in place.

The Protec gum shield is compatible with most bits, provided the horse’s mouth offers enough space. As for bridles, it requires a French or flash noseband. Crossed or German nosebands do not provide the necessary support for the Protec.

The Protec is approved by the FEI. However, you should always check the rules specific to your discipline to be certain.
