As the name suggests, a roller bit has one or more rollers on the central part of the mouthpiece.

The roller acts like a toy, helping to focus the horse on the rider’s aids and encouraging relaxation of the jaw.

The thickness of your bit's mouthpiece depends on the space available in your horse's mouth. If he doesn't have much space, it's best to choose a thin mouthpiece. Conversely, if he has more space, opt for a thicker mouthpiece. Standard mouthpiece sizes are 14 and 16 mm.

Mouthpiece size depends on your horse's mouth. If in doubt, we advise you to measure your usual bit (between the 2 rings), or use a tool to measure your horse's mouth.

If you find yourself between 2 sizes, it's best to opt for the larger size, even if it means using bit guards to make up the difference. If the bit is too tight, your horse may hurt. If your bit is too big, it will be unstable in the mouth and this can also injure your horse.

Do you know the funnel approach ? That's how we usually work to determine the most suitable bit. You need to be attentive to the various signals your horse might emit, which could help determine his sensitivities. Does he shake his head? Does he rest on his bit? If you're not completely satisfied with your bit within 15 days, you can return it to us and take advantage of our rental service. The bit should be rinsed with water after each use to remove saliva and residues. Don't forget to dry it with a towel. If impurities are difficult to remove, you can use a small cleaning brush. Never use a metallic brush, however, as the bristles may scratch the bit, making it uneven and sharp.
