A bit and bridle fitter works directly with the horse-and-rider combination. They assess the horse, its equipment and way of going in order to guide the trial process and find a solution that is consistent with its needs.

Bit fitting cannot be learned through theory alone. A professional must be able to assess and work with horses with very different conformations, sensitivities and ways of going. We therefore favour bit fitters who have completed structured professional training that includes genuine practical experience in the field. A short, exclusively online course does not meet our selection criteria.

2. Independence from brands

A bit fitter should be able to look for the solution that suits the horse and rider, rather than the one they have a commercial interest in selling. In our view, impartiality when choosing brands and models is therefore essential. Our partners must be able to work with different brands and different solutions. We therefore exclude from our network professionals with direct commercial interests in a brand that could influence their recommendations.
