Choosing a bit is not an exact science, and finding the right one sometimes requires several trials. A bit that seems suitable on paper may feel different once used with your horse. This is why Mors And More allows you to convert your bit purchase into a rental if it is not suitable after trial.
How does the bit trial service work?
The principle is simple: you order your bit from our website as usual, try it with your horse and, if it is not suitable, you have 15 days after receipt to register your return request and send the bit back to us as part of our rental service. Once the bit has been received and inspected by our team, you will receive a refund or store credit corresponding to the price of the bit, minus the applicable rental fee and, where applicable, any charges provided for in our terms and conditions.
Key information
You do not need to select a “rental” option when placing your order: you purchase your bit as usual. The purchase is only converted into a rental if the bit has been tried and you wish to return it.
Which bits can be tried?
The vast majority of bits available from Mors And More can be tried through our rental service. Bits made from metal, synthetic materials, rubber and carbon are eligible, including second-hand bits. However, for hygiene reasons and due to the nature of these materials, leather or fabric bits are not eligible for rental.
Please note: vulnerable materials
Bits made from synthetic materials, rubber or other vulnerable materials may become damaged or be bitten. During the trial, regularly check the condition of the mouthpiece. A damaged bit or one showing marks that prevent it from being offered for rental again may be handled differently during inspection.
How much does it cost to rent a bit?
You pay the full price of the bit when placing your order. The rental fee is only applied if you decide to return the bit after using it.
The rental cost depends on the price or material of the bit and ranges from €10 to €25. For second-hand bits, the rental fee is based on the bit's original value rather than its discounted price.

Special case: I-Bride bits
The trial/rental fee for I-Bride bits is €20.
Return shipping costs are the customer's responsibility. The shipping costs for the original order must also be taken into account when calculating the final amount of your return.
Example: you purchase a titanium bit for €150 and selected free Colissimo delivery (worth €7.90). The rental fee is €20. Mors And More will therefore refund €150 – (€20 + €7.90) = €123.10.
If the return conditions are not met, the refund will amount to 40% of the bit's purchase value.
Tried bit or new bit: what is the difference?
If the bit has been used with your horse, the return will automatically be processed as a rental and the corresponding fee will be deducted. If the bit has not been used and is returned in new condition in accordance with our return conditions, it will be processed under our standard returns procedure.
To qualify for the bit rental service, the returned bit must be in excellent condition or, failing that, show only an acceptable level of wear. It must not have any cuts or superficial scratches longer than 1 cm. Remember to clean your bit thoroughly: there must be no traces of saliva, food or other dirt when it is returned. The bit must be returned with any original accessories, packaging and labels.
How do I return a bit after trying it?
If the bit you ordered and tried is not suitable for your horse, you must register your return request through your customer account:
- Log in to your Mors And More customer account.
- Go to “Order history and details”.
- Select the relevant order.
- Select the bit or bits you wish to return and specify the reason for the return.
- Choose between receiving store credit valid for 2 years or a refund.
- Confirm your return request.
- Carefully pack the bit and include your name or order number in the parcel so that we can quickly identify your return.
The address to use depends on the shipping method you choose. You can return your bit via tracked Colissimo or Mondial Relay.

Remember to include your order number in your parcel so that we can identify your return. For Colissimo returns, we recommend using a tracked service and keeping your proof of postage until your return has been processed.
How to properly try a bit with your horse
The benefit of the rental service is that it allows you to observe your horse using the bit in a real riding situation. To make the comparison as relevant as possible, try to avoid changing several factors at the same time. We also recommend trying the same bit over 3 to 4 sessions before forming an opinion.
You can observe the stability of the contact, how responsive and relaxed the mouth is, tongue movements, mouth opening and the way the horse seeks or avoids the contact, while also taking your own feel through the reins into account.
However, these observations should not be interpreted in isolation. The bit is part of a wider combination that includes the bridle, its adjustment, the horse's way of going and the action of the rider's hands.
