Gogues

A fixed gogue imposes a constant position for the head and neck by exerting continuous tension, restricting the horse’s natural movements. The controlled gogue, on the other hand, offers more freedom, activating only when the horse raises its head. It has a softer and more gradual action. The controlled gogue is therefore gentler and more forgiving, encouraging the horse to engage willingly.

There are various types of training aids, and the choice depends on your training goals (relaxation, dressage, muscle building) and the specific needs of your horse.

To preserve your tack over time, proper care is essential. Leather lasts longer when well-maintained and stored in a dry place. Initially, we recommend oiling your leather before their first use to soften and waterproof the material. Regularly clean your leather with glycerin soap and nourish it with a leather balm (approximately every two weeks, depending on use). An annual oiling is necessary and can be repeated if the leather feels stiff.
