The loose ring bit, also known as a Chantilly bit, is the most commonly used mouthpiece. Its two rings are movable and slide freely through the ends of the mouthpiece. It provides slightly indirect contact compared to fixed-ring bits, allowing for easier rein adjustments with the fingers and helping to limit excessive tension.

The loose ring bit should be rinsed with water after each use to remove saliva and residues. Don't forget to dry it with a towel. If impurities are difficult to remove, you can use a small cleaning brush. Never use a metallic brush, however, as the bristles may scratch the loose ring bit, making it uneven and sharp.
