Locked Gag bit - Jump'in

The gag bit works on the balance of the horse. It helps the rider make the horse work on his hind-end. It's a great tool to divide the points of pressure on the mouth and the poll. This type of bit can be used by amateurs and experts. You will see them often in the show ring. It needs specific cheek parts. It can also be used with only one pair of reins, or with bit connectors, or with 2 pairs of reins. The large rings are used for more leverage. The locked mouthpiece prevents the horse to take a strong contact. The bit locks once the horse takes on too much contact.
