The eggbutt bit from Stübben is a double jointed bit. The double joint provides comfort for the horse thanks to the olive-shaped center piece and small joints. This allows the bit to be positioned comfortably in the horse's mouth. Pressure in the mouth is divided and more evenly distributed across the reins. The eggbutt bit has oval-shaped rings. They only rotate along one axis, which prevents pinching of the corners of the mouth. The snaffle bit has small rings for ideal placement with the snaffle bit. The olive allows direct contact with the horse's mouth.
Material
Sweet Copper : This alloy is made of 90% solid copper, 7% iron and 3% aluminium. It gives off a pleasant flavour for the horse when it comes into contact with its mouth, encouraging it to chew and salivate, thus relaxing its jaw.
Stainless steel : Stainless steel is a commonly used alloy that has the distinctive feature of not oxidizing. Due to their nature, stainless steel bits are very strong and do not wear out easily with use.
