The Velari Sweet Iron double-jointed eggbutt bit is designed for horses that prefer a stable mouthpiece and consistent contact. It is particularly suitable for horses with a sensitive or low palate, or those that respond well to evenly distributed pressure across the tongue and bars.

The double-jointed mouthpiece follows the natural movements of the mouth and distributes pressure across the tongue and bars. It reduces the nutcracker effect associated with single-jointed bits and limits pressure on the palate, especially in horses with a low palate.

Made from Sweet Iron, the mouthpiece naturally oxidises when exposed to moisture, developing a slightly sweet taste that encourages salivation and relaxation of the mouth. This helps promote bit acceptance and softer contact.

The fixed eggbutt cheeks keep the mouthpiece stable and limit excessive lateral movement. Their design reduces the risk of pinching at the corners of the mouth while providing direct and consistent rein aids.
