The Trust single-jointed bit features a finely finished mouthpiece designed to minimise uneven edges that could cause discomfort to the horse's tongue. Its jointed design provides good mobility, encouraging the horse to maintain a light contact.

This bit is particularly suitable for horses that are comfortable with a bit but tend to lean on the rider's hand when using straight bar bits. The loose rings provide gentle contact without leverage and allow the rider to make subtle rein adjustments with their fingers, encouraging relaxation through the horse's forehand.

The gag bit helps encourage collection, improving and maintaining the horse's balance. It encourages the horse to lift its withers and engage its hindquarters underneath its body.

This bit features special cheekpieces that pass through two additional rings positioned perpendicular to the main bit rings. This design allows it to be used with two or four reins, or with gag bit converters.

When used with four reins, the reins attached directly to the bit rings provide a traditional lifting action, while those attached to the sliding gag cheekpieces can produce a lowering effect on the horse's head and neck.

The gag bit can help improve the horse's balance by encouraging the horse to bring its nose closer to the rider.
