Our expert's opinion
The Goyo Aga cheeks allow the rider to adjust the amount of leverage depending on rein placement, providing a balance between control and softness. The straight leather mouthpiece offers a very stable feel while distributing pressure mainly over the tongue and bars without creating concentrated pressure points. The vegetable-tanned leather encourages excellent acceptance thanks to its soft feel and natural taste, making it an ideal choice for highly sensitive horses or those reluctant to accept metal bits.
Description
The Fager Adam Goyo Aga bit is designed for horses with very sensitive mouths that struggle to accept metal bits or show signs of tooth wear. Its leather mouthpiece provides exceptional comfort while encouraging relaxation.
The straight leather mouthpiece gradually adapts to the shape of the horse's mouth, distributing pressure evenly across the tongue and bars. Its slight flexibility creates a stable and reassuring contact, ideal for sensitive horses.
Handcrafted from vegetable-tanned leather, the mouthpiece is stitched around a nylon-covered core with an internal safety wire that maintains the bit's shape while ensuring maximum safety. No harmful chemicals or artificial dyes are used.
The Goyo Aga cheeks provide adjustable leverage depending on rein placement. The lower the rein is attached, the greater the leverage effect, distributing pressure between the mouth, poll and curb strap. This offers increased control while maintaining a stable contact.
The leather mouthpiece is particularly suitable for sensitive horses but is not recommended for horses that chew on their bits. Regular conditioning with food-grade paraffin oil is recommended to keep the leather soft and supple.
Material
The mouthpiece is made from vegetable-tanned leather, a natural material that gradually moulds to the horse's mouth for maximum comfort. This tanning process is carried out without harmful chemicals or artificial dyes.
Caution: This material is vulnerable and is not covered by the manufacturer's warranty against damage caused by chewing. It is strongly recommended not to use a heavily damaged bit, as it could injure the horse's bars, tongue or palate.
