Our expert's opinion
The Baucher cheeks stabilize the bit in the mouth and promote a consistent contact with minimal movement. The straight mouthpiece, slightly narrowed in the center, distributes pressure evenly while providing a reassuring feel for sensitive horses. The TPU resin offers a warm and flexible contact that encourages relaxation, salivation, and improved bit acceptance. The Soft and Hard versions allow riders to match the firmness level to each horse's individual sensitivity and preference.
Description
The Fager Nicole straight rubber Baucher bit is particularly suited to sensitive, young, or rehabilitating horses that benefit from a stable and reassuring contact. Its fixed cheek design provides increased stability in the mouth while encouraging a more consistent connection with the rider's hand.
The straight mouthpiece is slightly thinner in the center, allowing a better fit over the tongue and a more even pressure distribution. This design reduces excessive pressure on the bars and palate, making it especially suitable for horses that become tense or raise their head when contact is taken.
Made from high-quality TPU, a soft and comfortable material, it promotes relaxation, salivation, and bit acceptance. Two firmness options are available to suit different horses: Soft for a very gentle feel and Hard for slightly clearer signals while remaining comfortable.
The Baucher cheeks provide excellent mouthpiece stability and more precise rein aids. This configuration encourages a steady contact and helps the horse confidently seek the bit.
Available in different thicknesses to suit various mouth conformations, this model is an excellent choice for sensitive horses, horses lacking confidence in the contact, or those needing a steadier connection.
Material
TPU resin (thermoplastic polyurethane) combines the softness of rubber with excellent durability. Comfortable in the horse's mouth, it promotes relaxation, salivation, and bit acceptance while remaining suitable for everyday use.
Warning: This material is vulnerable and is not covered by the manufacturer against damage caused by chewing. It is strongly recommended not to use a heavily damaged bit, as it may injure the horse's bars, tongue, or palate.
