The Escargot bit is similar to a Pelham bit but must be used with a second pair of reins and a curb chain. It avoids pressure on the poll, meaning the horse is less likely to overbend. It is recommended for strong and sensitive horses. The anatomical mouthpiece follows the natural shape of the horse's mouth, resting evenly on the tongue and bars, while a slight tongue relief helps reduce pressure. The large loose ring allows for greater freedom while providing a quicker and more direct response to rein aids.
