The Trust brand double-jointed tandem bit helps slightly limit the risk of a “nutcracker effect” on the tongue and palate thanks to its slightly flattened central lozenge. Trust offers a joint with uniform thickness and smooth transitions at the ends of the mouthpiece, preventing rough edges that could cause discomfort to the horse.

The double joint provides good mobility to the bit, helping to achieve relaxation in horses that may lean on straight bars. It offers good freedom of movement in the horse’s mouth. This is a versatile bit that can be used for both young horses in training and older horses.

Its sweet iron alloy encourages chewing and salivation, which promotes relaxation.

The tandem bit is a combination of a hackamore and a bit. Its action is applied to the nose as well as the lower jaw through the curb chain. This bit must be used with great precision and is designed to help control horses with a lot of strength and energy.

The curb chain allows more precise adjustment of the leverage action of the bit: the tighter it is, the stronger the action. It distributes pressure over the lower jaw. The use of curb chain guards is recommended for sensitive horses.

Warning: this bit runs small. We recommend choosing one size larger than the usual size.

Sweet iron : Sweet iron alloy oxidizes when in contact with the humidity of the mouth and the air. The oxidation brings a sweet taste which naturally stimulates the production of saliva. This corresponds to the effect of a sugar that is given to the horse at the beginning of the session but allows to diffuse this sweet taste throughout the work. Consequently, this alloy allows a good acceptance of the bit and helps the horse to get in touch with its mouthpiece. The oxydation modifies the aspect of the bit during the sessions.
