The “Barrel 20” bit belongs to the family of locked bits, in which the movement of the joint is limited to about 5%. It helps prevent tongue pinching while protecting the palate. Its curved shape allows the pressure to be distributed between the bars and the tongue. This bit helps achieve better contact while ensuring that the horse does not lean too heavily on it. It also offers independent action on each rein, which can help lift one shoulder more than the other thanks to the possible rotation of one ring independently of the other.
