Nils Sweet iron Barrel Baucher - Fager

The Fager Nils Baucher is designed for horses with a sensitive tongue, an inconsistent contact, or those reluctant to confidently seek the bit. It is also well suited to horses that feel restricted in a straight bit yet unstable in a jointed mouthpiece.

Its barrel mouthpiece creates a natural locking action that provides the stability of a straight bit while still allowing controlled rotation. The tongue relief reduces pressure on the tongue, making it especially suitable for horses with a large or sensitive tongue.

The Sweet Iron coating gradually oxidises to create a pleasant sweet taste that encourages salivation and helps the horse confidently seek and maintain a consistent contact with the bit.

The Baucher cheekpieces keep the mouthpiece exceptionally stable in the mouth while reducing unnecessary movement. This helps relieve pressure on the corners of the mouth, encourages a quieter contact and promotes a more relaxed and consistent way of going.

Sweet Iron is a coating applied over a stainless steel bit. As it naturally oxidises with moisture, it develops a brownish-grey colour and a pleasant sweet taste that stimulates salivation and encourages the horse to confidently seek a steadier contact. This oxidation is completely normal and part of the material's intended function.
