Description
: The Abbey rubber Pelham bit is a double-jointed bit that provides light, gentle, and comfortable contact. Its soft alloy allows your horse's mouth to relax properly. Unlike a single-jointed bit, which acts on the palate, a double-jointed bit acts on the tongue without causing pain. It is important to know that the horse's palate is a sensitive area that should not be neglected. This bit provides stability for horses that need to seek more contact without being too stiff. A very comfortable bit that naturally forms on the tongue thanks to its anatomy, its alloy provides a soft contact.
This bit has the particularity of resembling the bridle bit, but on the contrary it still has a big ring at the level of the barrel, which allows to fix a second pair of reins or a pair of rings. Its leverage can vary depending on the size of its branches, the location of the reins and the setting of the curb chain. The curb chain allows you to vary the intensity of the bit. It is recommended to use curb chain guards for sensitive horses. The Pelham allows you to close the angle between the head and neck, it is ideal for strong horses that can open up on the hand.

Material
Vulcanite: Vulcanite is a hard alloy resulting from the vulcanization of rubber, a process in which rubber is heated to high temperatures to make it stiffer and smoother. Soft to the touch and benefiting from a more stable temperature, this alloy is more comfortable than metal. This type of alloy requires the horse to salivate naturally with a bit in the mouth, so that the bit doesn't overheat. Unlike ebonite (rubber), vulcanite is a smooth alloy.
Caution: This material is vulnerable, and is not guaranteed by the manufacturer against wear due to biting. We strongly advise against using a bit that is too damaged, as this could injure the horse's bars, tongue and palate.
