The weymouth straight bit is softer for horses with delicate mouths. Poponcini rubber bits are very flexible, the aim being to remove as much compression as possible from the horse's tongue and bars in order to offer optimum comfort and contact between rider and horse. It has the particularity of having a "square" barrel with rounded corners in order to enlarge the area in contact with the tongue and the palate. Poponcini bits have mini washers moulded into the bit for comfort. The straight bit is soft. Allows for symmetrical contact of the mouth so that the horse wants to come a little against the bit. This is why some riders use them from the beginning. Poponcini bits have a brass ring reinforcement to allow the rings to turn easily. They also have mini washers moulded into the bit for extra comfort. The Poponcini bit allows horses with a sensitive mouth to get the action of the bridle without putting too much pressure on the mouth. It therefore helps to achieve a bend in the neck in powerful horses.
