Full cheek double jointed - Shires

Expert opinion : The Shires full cheek double jointed bit helps to channel the horse more gently.  The double jointed bit allows the horse's mouth to relax more easily, transmitting aids more smoothly. Unlike the single bit, which acts on the palate, a sensitive part of the horse's mouth, the double bit acts on the tongue without causing pain. The full cheek placed on either side of the mouth allow better control of lateral flexion in a young horse, for example, and make the bit more directional.
