The eggbutt gag bit works on the balance of the horse. It helps the rider make the horse work on his hind-end. It's a great tool to divide the points of pressure on the mouth and the poll. It can also be used with only one pair of reins, or with bit connectors, or with 2 pairs of reins. The eggbutt is a good cheek piece to keep a constant contact.
