The Shires preformed straight bit provides comfort in the horse's mouth by distributing pressure points. It acts globally on the tongue and bars. Recommended for horses with sensitive palates or flat palates. The straight bit gives the rider a symmetrical action. Its straight barrel encourages the horse to come to rest on the bit. It is recommended for horses that tend to shy away from contact, dig in their backs, but also for horses with sensitive palates or a flat palate. Loose rings offer gentle contact to the mouth. Compared with fixed rings, they offer a slight indirect contact, making it easier to play with the fingers and limiting excessive tension.
Material
Resin : Resin bits stay at room temperature. They offer a soft contact but are less tender and thick than a rubber bit. The apple taste encourages chewing.
Caution : This material is vulnerable and is not guaranteed by the manufacturer against wear and tear due to biting. We strongly advise against using a bit that is too damaged, as this could injure the horse's bars, tongue and palate.
