Expert opinion
: The Shires double snaffle bit is a double snaffle bit that offers a single contact. It allows a better relaxation of your horse's mouth by a smoother transmission of your aids. Unlike the single bit which acts on the palate, the double bit acts on the tongue without causing pain. It is important to know that the palate of the horse is a sensitive area that should not be neglected. The free rings offer a soft contact to the mouth. They allow a slight indirect contact compared to fixed rings, which makes it easier to play in the fingers and limit excessive tension. The middle of the bit is made of copper alloy, which gives the horse a pleasant taste when it comes into contact with the mouth, stimulating chewing and salivation.
Material
Stainless steel : Stainless steel is a commonly used alloy which has the particularity of not oxidising. Due to their nature, stainless steel jaws are very strong and do not get damaged over time.
