Our expert's opinion
Jenny's double-jointed mouthpiece creates space for the tongue, relieving constant tongue pressure. The Copper Roller is cleverly designed to be positioned lower than the joints to increase the point-pressure on the tongue. This creates pressure when your horse pulls or feels heavy in your hand without applying consistent pressure. The Copper Roller also gives horses something to play with, perfect for horses who can feel numb to the contact. The combination of Sweet Iron and Copper creates a taste in the mouth which is readily accepted even by the most sensitive or picky horses. It effectively works to increase acceptance and a steady contact.Fager mouthpiece designs are always horizontally straight – none have a big bend forward. We design them in this way to maintain the correct balance point (BP) in the mouth. When a bit creates a bigger bend forwards, the BP also moves forward, which reduces the effectiveness of the aids.N.B. The balance point remains even if it has a slight bend over the tongue = Upwards.Note; Jenny has the same mouthpiece as Julia. Julia is the snaffle version = normal snaffle rings. Jenny is the bradoon version = smaller rings.Loose Rings are designed to move independently to the mouthpiece. This allows the horse more freedom to use his tongue, allowing them to place the pressure from the mouthpiece either higher or lower, whichever they prefer. Loose Rings are a good choice for a horse that can be slightly stiff or hard in the mouth.
Material
Sweet iron : Sweet iron alloy oxidizes when in contact with the humidity of the mouth and the air. The oxidation brings a sweet taste which naturally stimulates the production of saliva. This corresponds to the effect of a sugar that is given to the horse at the beginning of the session but allows to diffuse this sweet taste throughout the work. Consequently, this alloy allows a good acceptance of the bit and helps the horse to get in touch with its mouthpiece. The oxydation modifies the aspect of the bit during the sessions.
