Our expert's opinion
The gag bit works on the balance of the horse. It helps the rider make the horse work on his hind-end. It's a great tool to divide the points of pressure on the mouth and the poll. This type of bit can be used by amateurs and experts. You will see them often in the show ring. It needs specific cheek parts. It can also be used with only one pair of reins, or with bit connectors, or with 2 pairs of reins. The large rings are used for more leverage.
Material
Stainless steel : Stainless steel is a commonly used alloy that has the particularity of not oxidising. By their very nature, stainless steel jaws are extremely strong and suffer little damage over time.
