The Canon Valerie is a straight barrel with a slight anatomical curve. It offers stability and serenity to the horse because of the constant position of the barrel in the mouth. The straight barrel allows symmetrical ‘left/right’ contact of the hand action on the horse's mouth. This reduces pressure by distributing it more evenly. This is why some riders use it as soon as they break-in. The advanced tongue passage is more comfortable for the horse because it frees up space for the tongue and allows pressure to be exerted more simultaneously on the bars, commissures and tongue. The alloy helps the horse to relax and accept the bit. It is therefore interesting for a horse that has difficulty settling on its bit and/or a sensitive horse that might have a tendency to stick its tongue out. The large ring bit provides better control and tension for the horse.
