Description
The Harcour brand single broken pelham bite is a bite that offers simple contact. Unlike the double broken bite that acts on the tongue, the single broken bite acts on the palate. It is important to know that the horse’s palate is a sensitive place not to be neglected. It can be recommended for horses with little palate sensitivity or with a hollow palate. Rubber allows a more pleasant and relaxing contact. Especially in winter, the stainless steel jaws cause an unpleasant cold effect in the mouth.
The pelham is a fixed lever bit. Through its action on the neck of the horse and the chin (mandible) it has a lowering effect more or less important depending on the size of the branches and its installation (adjustment in two or four reins, rings, bracelet). It is interesting on powerful horses and/ or relatively in the blood to channel their energy. The curb allows to vary the intensity of the bit. It is advisable to use guards gourmettes for sensitive horses.
