Rubber single jointed pelham - Waldhausen

The Waldhausen rubber single-jointed pelham bit is suitable for horses requiring more precise control over their balance and head carriage while benefiting from a more flexible contact than a metal mouthpiece.

Its single-jointed mouthpiece applies pressure to the tongue and bars, with possible palate contact depending on the horse's mouth conformation and rein action. It provides direct rein aids, with varying intensity depending on the leverage applied.

Made from thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), this bit provides a more flexible contact than metal. Its flexible shanks follow the horse's movements and may provide a less rigid feel.

The pelham shanks allow the leverage effect to be adjusted according to rein attachment. Using two sets of reins or pelham roundings helps adapt the action, while the included curb chain applies pressure to the lower jaw.

The upper shanks measure 4 cm and the lower shanks 5 cm. Their length influences the leverage effect and the pressure applied to the poll and lower jaw.
