The single-jointed full cheek bit from the Trust brand has relatively fine finishes allowing it to limit the roughness that could be uncomfortable for the horse's tongue. It provides barrel mobility that will encourage the horse to stay in light contact. It is an interesting bit for a horse comfortable with its mouthpieces that can weigh on the hand with straight bits. Its sweet iron alloy promotes chewing and salivation of the horse and this brings relaxation. The full cheek will allow to obtain an excellent lateral framing and a more direct contact of the hand towards the mouth.
Material
Sweet iron : Sweet iron alloy oxidizes when in contact with the humidity of the mouth and the air. The oxidation brings a sweet taste which naturally stimulates the production of saliva. This corresponds to the effect of a sugar that is given to the horse at the beginning of the session but allows to diffuse this sweet taste throughout the work. Consequently, this alloy allows a good acceptance of the bit and helps the horse to get in touch with its mouthpiece. The oxydation modifies the aspect of the bit during the sessions.
