Our expert's opinion

The JOHN bit is a double jointed bit. John is constructed to be 100% smooth everywhere, even around the joints for ultimate comfort for the horse. The joints of the bit are cleverly designed to ensure they don't ever push against the palate or sit on top of the bars. John is an extremely comfortable bit which contours naturally around the horse's tongue. This design is ideal for horses that easily cut or bruise.Baucher is to prefer if you have problems with wounds in the corners of the mouth or wears on the premolars (P2). The Baucher will reveal these places from constant pressure and help the horse to relax. As an added benefit, the straight and thin design enhances the rider's aids to be more effective, direct and precise than ever before.

Material

Sweet iron : Sweet iron alloy oxidizes when in contact with the humidity of the mouth and the air. The oxidation brings a sweet taste which naturally stimulates the production of saliva. This corresponds to the effect of a sugar that is given to the horse at the beginning of the session but allows to diffuse this sweet taste throughout the work. Consequently, this alloy allows a good acceptance of the bit and helps the horse to get in touch with its mouthpiece. The oxydation modifies the aspect of the bit during the sessions.
