Expert opinion
Expert's opinion: The Shires Beval double jointed allows for better relaxation of the horse's mouth. Indeed, unlike the single jointed which acts on the palate which is a sensitive part of the horse's mouth, the double jointed acts on the tongue without causing pain.
The Beval bit with central rings is a versatile bit that allows the horse to switch leverage and focus on the rider's aids. The 3-way bit is often used to test the horse's reaction to leverage.
> Combination of 3 bits in one: lateral framing, leverage and lifting effect.

Material
Sweet Iron : Sweet Iron alloy oxidizes upon contact with moisture in the mouth and air. The oxidation brings a sweet taste that naturally stimulates the production of saliva. This corresponds to the effect of a sugar that is given to the horse at the beginning of the session but allows to diffuse this sweet taste throughout the work. Therefore, this alloy allows a good acceptance of the bit and helps the horse to make contact with the mouthpiece. The oxydation modifies the aspect of the bit during the sessions.
