Our expert's opinion
The loose rings provide mobility and a slightly indirect contact, making them particularly useful for horses that tend to become fixed or take too much tension against the hand. Combined with the strongly curved double-jointed Verbindend mouthpiece, the bit provides precise lateral guidance while encouraging mobility in the mouth and improved balance, particularly in horses that tend to be heavy on the forehand. Salox Gold warms quickly in the mouth and its relative softness contributes to comfort and acceptance of the contact.
Description
The Neue Schule Verbindend bradoon is particularly suited to horses that are sensitive over the tongue, tend to be heavy on the forehand or lack balance.
Its double-jointed mouthpiece features a pronounced U-shaped curve and finely finished central joints. This shape encourages mobility in the mouth, helps limit concentrated pressure and supports work aimed at lifting the shoulders.
Salox Gold quickly warms to the temperature of the mouth and is slightly softer than stainless steel, helping to provide a comfortable feel and encourage acceptance of the bit.
The loose rings provide increased mobility and a slightly more indirect contact than fixed rings. They allow the rider to move the bit easily through the fingers and help limit excessive tension or leaning on the contact.
Its curved shape also provides additional lateral guidance, which can improve precision during lateral work. When used as a bradoon in a double bridle, it supports the search for roundness and better balance through the forehand.
Material
Salox Gold: This alloy has high thermal conductivity, allowing it to warm quickly to the temperature of the horse’s mouth. Its metal is slightly softer than stainless steel and some copper alloys, helping to absorb impact forces when the bit comes into contact with the teeth and therefore contributing to the protection of the enamel. The addition of aluminium creates an insoluble protective alumina coating that naturally reforms if the surface is damaged. Neue Schule developed this material to provide a comfortable and neutral feel in the mouth, encouraging acceptance of the bit and responsiveness to the rider’s aids.
