Our expert's opinion
The Trust straight Weymouth bit with tongue port combines the leverage action of short or long shanks with a mouthpiece that provides additional tongue room. Long shanks increase leverage on the poll and chin, while the curb chain adjustment allows the intensity to be regulated. The straight mouthpiece with tongue port promotes symmetrical contact and transfers more pressure towards the bars, requiring precise rein aids. The sliding cheek mechanism provides some mouthpiece mobility and may reduce tension during changes in contact. The smooth, soft Innosense resin encourages bit acceptance in sensitive horses. This combination can suit horses requiring additional tongue freedom while maintaining precise curb bit action.
Material
Resin: Trust Innosense resin is a food-grade synthetic material with a smooth, soft surface. It provides comfortable contact, particularly for horses with sensitive mouths or limited saliva production. Innosense mouthpieces feature an internal metal reinforcement that contributes to their strength while allowing different levels of flexibility depending on the model.
Warning: This material is vulnerable and is not covered by the manufacturer's warranty against wear caused by chewing. It is strongly advised not to use a severely damaged bit, as it may injure the horse's bars, tongue and palate.
