Expert opinion
: The Abbey Dr Bristol double jointed allows to limit slightly the risk of "nutcracker" effect on the tongue and the palate thanks to its slightly flattened central blade. The double crimp offers good mobility to the bit, allowing good relaxation in horses that can be supported with straight bits. It has good freedom of movement in the horse's mouth. The rotation of the pallet on the tongue helps to bring the horse's nose closer to the rider. This bit can be recommended for horses that are not very sensitive in the tongue and mouth in general, that have difficulty compacting, balancing or that are carried forward by their mass. Loose rings offer a soft contact to the mouth. They allow for a slight indirect contact compared to fixed rings, making it easier to play in the fingers and limiting excessive tension.
Material
Stainless steel : Stainless steel is a common material that does not oxidise. Due to their nature, stainless steel bits are very solid and do not damage over time.
