: The special feature of the lift bit is that it uses special uprights that pass through two rings perpendicular to the bit rings. This feature allows it to be used with two or four reins or with rings. The snaffle reins will have a traditional lifting effect, and the reins attached to the special posts will often have a lowering effect. The needle bit allows a better channelling of the horse. The needles placed on both sides of the mouth allow a better control of the lateral flexion in a young horse and make this bit very directional. This bit is totally articulated and therefore prevents the horse from landing on it. It has been designed not to cause any tongue pinching whatever movements the bit may make inside the mouth.
