The Medium Ring Gag is stronger than the usual Loose Ring and Eggbutt as the ropes going through the rings create leverage which will exert more pressure through the mouthpiece whilst at the same time introducing more poll pressure. The Medium Ring Gag creates less leverage making it kinder than the big ring version. The eggbutt gag prevents pintching of the lips and gives a solid feel against the side of the face. The snaffle mouthpiece is popular for its curved mouthpiece which distributes pressure more evenly over the tongue and bars and reduces the nutcraker action. > Gag cheek pieces included.
Material
Sweet iron : Sweet Iron alloy oxidizes in contact with the humidity of the mouth and the air. The oxidation brings a sweet taste that naturally stimulates the production of saliva. This corresponds to the effect of a sugar that is given to the horse at the beginning of the session but allows to diffuse this sweet taste throughout the work. Therefore, this alloy allows a good acceptance of the bit and helps the horse to make contact with the mouthpiece. The oxidation modifies the aspect of the bit during the sessions.
