Expert opinion
: The SABINA straight Icelandic bit from Fager is a titanium bit. The straight barrel offers a symmetrical contact in the mouth. The side ring branches are designed to avoid pinching the horse and improve the rider's aids. The chain can be detached from both sides and allows pressure to be distributed between the chin, jaw and mouth. The Fager Sabina has the shortest shanks than other Icelandic bits, which makes its leverage action softer. This bit is reminiscent of small pelhams, but allows for use with only one set of reins, placed on the bottom ring.
Material
Titanium : The titanium alloy has several advantages. First of all, it is an ultra-light bit that is soft to the touch, which makes it more discreet for the horse and therefore more comfortable. It helps to relieve tension in the cervical region. Titanium is relaxing, it promotes the production of saliva, which helps to relax the neck muscles. The titanium is covered with dioxide which makes it anti-bacterial.
