Our expert's opinion
The eggbutt rings stabilise the mouthpiece and reduce the risk of pinching the corners of the mouth, promoting consistent and precise contact. The double-jointed mouthpiece distributes pressure across the tongue and bars while reducing the nutcracker effect of some single-jointed bits. Stainless steel provides a smooth surface and neutral taste without significantly stimulating salivation. This combination suits ponies that benefit from a stable mouthpiece, progressive rein aids and rein tension adapted to their sensitivity.
Description
The Waldhausen double-jointed eggbutt pony snaffle bit is suitable for ponies that benefit from stable contact and consistent rein aids. It may be particularly suitable for ponies that readily accept the bit and respond well to directional aids.
Its double-jointed mouthpiece distributes pressure across the tongue and bars while reducing the nutcracker effect associated with some single-jointed bits. It encourages progressive communication between the rider and pony.
Made from stainless steel, this bit provides a smooth surface and consistent contact. Its durable, neutral-tasting material is suitable for everyday use.
The eggbutt rings keep the mouthpiece in a more stable position than loose rings. Their fixed attachment limits lateral movement and reduces the risk of pinching the corners of the mouth.
Material
Stainless steel: Stainless steel is a durable, corrosion-resistant alloy that is easy to maintain. Its smooth surface and neutral taste provide consistent contact in the horse's mouth. It has little effect on salivation and retains its properties over time.
