Frans Sweet Gold loose ring tongue port - Fager

The Fager Frans is a loose ring straight-bar bit particularly suited to sensitive horses, horses that struggle to settle into the contact, or those that tend to put their tongue over or outside the bit. Its stability can also make it an interesting option when starting young horses.

The straight mouthpiece has a slight anatomical curve and remains stable in the mouth. It transfers the rider's aids symmetrically from left to right and distributes pressure over a wider area. The forward tongue port provides additional room for the tongue and distributes the action between the bars, corners of the mouth and tongue.

Sweet Gold has a more electric taste and works in a similar way to Sweet Iron. This alloy encourages acceptance of the bit and can help promote relaxation in the mouth.

The loose rings provide a more mobile and slightly indirect contact compared with fixed rings. They allow the rider to gently mobilise the bit through the fingers and can help limit excessive tension in the contact.
