Overall, this bit has a very efficient and strong action. This Pelham bit can only be used with four reins by putting a pair on the gag cheek pieces and the other one on the Pelham bar. It is possible to use bit connectors to reduce the action by putting them on the main ring and on the bar. Therefore, the curb chain action can be softened by using other curb chain types as leather or nylon ones.
