The Waldhausen needle bit is a simple bit with a simple contact. It allows a good relaxation of your horse's mouth by a smoother transmission of your aids. Unlike the double bit which acts on the tongue, the single bit acts on the palate. It is important to know that the palate of the horse is a sensitive area that should not be neglected. It can be recommended for horses that are relatively easy on the mouth, not very sensitive on the palate or with a hollow palate. The needle bit allows a better channeling of the horse. The needles placed on either side of the mouth act on the nose, allow better control of lateral flexion in a young horse and make this bit more directive.
