Our expert's opinion
The Trust pelham bit with tongue passage has many advantages thanks to its alloy and the shape of its barrel. It provides comfort for horses that are sensitive in the mouth and have difficulty stretching. The anatomy of the bit offers maximum space for the tongue and its tongue passage allows an optimal distribution of pressure on the bars, the tongue and the commissures. The fact that it is straight ensures symmetrical left/right contact from the hand to the mouth and eliminates any risk of pinching the tongue. All these elements will allow the horse to gain confidence in its mouthpiece, to come to rest and to stretch itself. Innosense resin is smooth and soft to the touch, so it can even be considered for horses that have difficulty salivating. The rigid resin prevents your horse from leaning too much on the bit while promoting contact. While the soft resin encourages the horse to stretch. A light contact of the horse on his bit will contribute to improve the locomotion of the horse through the engagement of the hindquarters. The pelham is a fixed lever bit. Through its action on the horse's neck and chin (mandible), it has a more or less important lowering effect depending on the size of the branches and its installation (two or four rein adjustment, rings, curb chain). It is interesting on powerful horses and/or horses with a relatively high blood pressure to channel their energy. The curb chain allows to vary the intensity of the bit. It is advisable to use curb chain protectors for sensitive horses.> Sold with curb chain.
Description
The Trust Innosense straight Pelham bit with tongue port is designed for horses with sensitive mouths that struggle to accept the contact or maintain a consistent connection with the bit. It is available with short or long shanks to adjust the intensity of its action.
Its straight mouthpiece with tongue port provides additional room for the tongue and distributes pressure between the bars and tongue. Its shape promotes symmetrical contact and reduces pressure on the tongue, particularly for horses with thick or sensitive tongues.
The Trust Innosense synthetic resin features a smooth, soft surface, making it suitable for sensitive horses or those that produce little saliva. Depending on the flexibility of the mouthpiece, it encourages a more or less stable contact while improving comfort in the mouth.
The Pelham applies leverage pressure to the poll and chin through the curb chain. Short shanks provide a more direct action, while long shanks increase leverage. The intensity also depends on whether Pelham roundings or two sets of reins are used, as well as the adjustment of the curb chain.
This bit is particularly suitable for strong or energetic horses requiring additional control while maintaining a comfortable mouthpiece. Supplied with a curb chain.
Material
Synthetic resin: Trust Innosense resin is a food-grade synthetic material with a smooth, soft surface. It provides comfortable contact, particularly for horses with sensitive mouths or limited saliva production. Innosense mouthpieces feature an internal metal reinforcement that contributes to their strength while allowing different levels of flexibility depending on the model.
Warning: This material is vulnerable and is not covered by the manufacturer's warranty against wear caused by chewing. It is strongly advised not to use a severely damaged bit, as it may injure the horse's bars, tongue and palate.
