Our expert's opinion
The olive bit has oval-shaped rings. They only rotate along one axis, helping the horse to make contact and are best suited to horses that have difficulty getting taut. It is an ideal bit for a young horse.
The Umbria needle bit is a single bit that offers a simple contact. It allows you to relax your horse's mouth so that you can deliver your aids more gently. Unlike the double curb bit, which acts on the tongue, the single curb bit acts on the palate. It's important to know that a horse's palate is a sensitive area that shouldn't be neglected. It can be recommended for horses that are relatively easy in the mouth, with a palate that is not very sensitive or with a hollow palate.
