Julia Sweet iron Pelham - Fager

The Fager Julia Pelham is designed for strong horses that lean on the bit, have an inconsistent contact, or tend to carry their head too high. It promotes a steadier connection while maintaining a progressive action.

Its double-jointed mouthpiece with tongue relief reduces constant pressure on the tongue for greater comfort. The integrated roller sits lower than the joints, creating targeted tongue pressure only when the horse becomes heavy in the hand, while also giving the horse something to play with.

The Sweet Iron coating naturally oxidises with use, creating a pleasant sweet taste that encourages the horse to seek a steadier and more consistent contact.

The Pelham cheekpieces provide greater leverage than a Baby Pelham, encouraging a lower frame, improved balance and increased braking power. It can be used with two reins or Pelham roundings to precisely adjust the amount of leverage.

Horses that are particularly wide across the premolars may require one size larger to ensure the upper shanks fit comfortably.

Sweet Iron is a coating applied over a stainless steel mouthpiece. As it naturally oxidises through contact with moisture and saliva, it develops its characteristic brown-grey colour and a slightly sweet taste that promotes salivation and encourages the horse to seek a steadier contact. This oxidation is completely normal and is part of the material's intended function.
