Expert Opinion: The Waterford full cheek bit from Trust is a waterfor bit in sweet iron. It has four breaks. This bit offers asymmetrical contact between the hand and the horse's mouth due to its articulation and the mobility it offers. This bit is recommended for horses that tend to land on their hands excessively. The multiple breaks will encourage the horse to take charge of its forehand. The needles will allow to obtain an excellent lateral framing and a more direct contact of the hand towards the mouth. The combination of the Waterford barrel and the full cheek makes this bit particularly suitable for a heavy horse in the mouth with a complicated direction.

Sweet iron : Sweet iron alloy oxidizes when in contact with the humidity of the mouth and the air. The oxidation brings a sweet taste which naturally stimulates the production of saliva. This corresponds to the effect of a sugar that is given to the horse at the beginning of the session but allows to diffuse this sweet taste throughout the work. Consequently, this alloy allows a good acceptance of the bit and helps the horse to get in touch with its mouthpiece. The oxydation modifies the aspect of the bit during the sessions.
