It is recommended for horses with a sensitive palate or a flat palate. The straight bit allows the rider to obtain a symmetrical action. Its straight barrel encourages the horse to come to rest on the bit. It is recommended for horses that tend to shy away from contact, dig their backs in, but also for horses with a sensitive palate or flat palate. The barrel is shaped to prevent the horse from connecting with the bit. The Pessoa bit has a lowering effect. The reins can be hooked on the bottom ring or with rings on the middle and bottom ring.
