Expert opinion: The Shires rubber drop cheek bit is a double jointed that offers a light, soft and pleasant contact. It allows a good relaxation of your horse's mouth by its soft alloy. Unlike the single jointed which acts on the palate, the double jointed acts on the tongue without causing pain. It is important to know that the palate of the horse is a sensitive area that should not be neglected. This bit offers stability for horses that need to seek more contact without being too stiff. A very comfortable bit that forms naturally on the tongue due to its anatomy, its alloy gives it a soft contact.  The thinness of its barrel allows to optimize the place of the bit in the mouth of your horse. Ideal for horses with small mouths.

This bit particularly encourages horses that carry their head very high to lower it and flex their neck more easily. The Drop Cheek with its upper branches has a slightly lowering effect on the neck. Its action remains light, with the aim of obtaining a slight yielding on the horse's neck.

Rubber / EquiKind + : Rubber bits are frequently used when breaking in young horses. They are often thick and help with contact. Rubber bits are vulnerable and can quickly become damaged, depending on your horse's dentition.

The EquiKind+ peanut link helps to encourage a softer contact. Eggbutt rings are ideal for horses with sensitive lips. The Equikind+ coating is thinner than a rubber mouthpiece making them more comfortable for horses that don't have room for a thick mouthpiece and ideal for sensitive mouths or horses that don't like metal in their mouths. Stainless steel is used due to it being durable, easy to clean and resistance to rust.

Caution : This material is vulnerable and is not guaranteed by the manufacturer against wear and tear due to biting. We strongly advise against using a bit that is too damaged, as this could injure the horse's bars, tongue and palate.
