Expert opinion : The Abbey loose ring with copper rollers and tongue passage is a straight bit that favours contact while maintaining control. It offers stability and serenity to the horse because of the constant position of the barrel in the mouth. The straight bit allows for a symmetrical "left/right" contact of the hand action on the horse's mouth. This reduces the pressure through a better distribution of the pressure. This is why some riders use it as soon as they break-in. The tongue loop provides more comfort for the horse as it frees up space for the tongue and allows pressure to be applied to the bars, commissures and tongue simultaneously. The free rings offer a soft contact to the mouth. They allow for a slight indirect contact compared to fixed rings, making it easier to play with the fingers and limiting excessive tension. The stainless steel alloy and copper rollers allow for better relaxation. It is an interesting bit for horses that have difficulty making contact but can be irregular in the contact.

Stainless steel : Stainless steel is a common material that does not oxidise. Due to their nature, stainless steel bits are very solid and do not damage over time. This bit has copper rollers which gives the horse a pleasant taste when it comes into contact with the mouth.
