Expert opinion : The Waldhausen double snaffle bit is a double snaffle bit that offers a simple contact. It allows a better relaxation of your horse's mouth by a smoother transmission of your aids. Unlike the single bit which acts on the palate, the double bit acts on the tongue without causing pain. It is important to know that the palate of the horse is a sensitive area that should not be neglected. This bit is similar to the bridle bit, but in contrast it still has a large ring in the barrel, which allows a second pair of reins or a pair of rings to be attached. The leverage can vary depending on the size of the limbs, the location of the reins and the adjustment of the curb chain. The curb chain can be used to vary the intensity of the bit. It is advisable to use curb chain guards for sensitive horses.
