Expert opinion : The rubber bit is soft and therefore interesting for horses with delicate mouths. The Poponcini rubber bits are flexible, the aim being to remove as much compression as possible from the horse's tongue and bars in order to offer optimum comfort and contact between rider and horse. It has the particularity of having a "square" barrel with rounded corners in order to enlarge the area in contact with the tongue and the palate. The Poponcini bits have mini washers moulded into the bit for greater comfort. The straight bit allows a symmetrical contact of the mouth so that the horse wants to come a little against the bit. This is why some riders use them from the beginning. Poponcini bits have a brass ring reinforcement to allow the rings to turn easily. They also have mini washers moulded into the bit for extra comfort. The Goyo-Aga bit has a fairly strong action as it is used with a curb chain and therefore puts pressure on the bars with a leverage effect. It is mainly used on horses with a lot of natural impulsion. The Goyo Aga Poponcini bit can be used in three different ways thanks to its hooks. It is possible to adjust the leverage according to the position of the reins on the ring.
Rubber : This material is a soft textured mouthpiece which brings a lot of comfort to the horse. It is very appreciated by horses that are sensitive and that have tendancy to refuse the contact. Additionally, the rubber bits do not suffer from temperature fluctuation. This means that your bit will always be at an acceptable temperature for your horse and you won't have the "brain freeze effect" on a iron bit on a cold winter day for example. There are 3 levels of flexibility : Harmony A, Harmony 1 and Harmony 2. The Harmony 1 is the most popular as it bends at 90°. The mouthpiece is reinforced with a flexible steel cable inside. It's important to obtain a minimum of salivation from the mouth for optimal use and to avoid any risk of overheating due to the rubbing of the rubber in the mouth. Handcrafted.
